Blues Flu's

My lovely wife Kim is sick with the flu. She, being the hard working gal that she is...added to the fact that she's a stubborn Korean...makes for today's blog post. I have not been by to visit many of you as I have had to try and keep the wife from working at our Mom-n-Pop clothing store, "Fashion Thug". The leg irons and hand cuffs have pretty much done the job (of keeping her home) till she fashioned a cuff key from a paper clip. I asked our 14 year old son to hold her down while I water-boarded her but he pointed out that it might just make her worse off, cold/flu wise. So far the bars on the windows, razor wire, guard towers, and claymore mines seem to be working out. We'll see.
I've been putting in many hours at our shop lately and my visits to other blogs have been few and far between. Sorry about that. I know you'll understand, though... as I not only have to work in our shop but inspect the guards at shift change then issue weapons, tasers, and CS gas. Later I have to put more chlorine in the moat and feed the alligators. The Doberman's can wait...I like 'em to be hungry. You understand how it is, don't you? Anyways... I showed her how some of you wished her well and that brought out her lovely smile (underneath the blindfold) looong time! Thanks, el mucho, for that. I think the hardest part of her being sick is trying to keep her away from work. She's a very hard worker and I just want to say that our marriage is living proof that opposites do indeed...oooh, how should I say this? Oh yes...in quotation marks...

"ATTRACT"!

Ruv you all LOOONG time!!!

Tortilla Soup

15 oz. can Rotel tomatoes w./chilis (mild unless you want to cry for a week)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can corn (or 1 cup frozen)
1 package Taco seasoning (mild unless you want to cry for a week)
2 cans Swanson chicken broth
abundance of chopped fresh cilantro
2 teaspoons cumin
1.5 cups chopped cooked chicken (Tysons precooked frozen chicken works great)

Place all ingredients in pot. Bring to boiling... simmer till it looks right.

Garnish with cheese and crispy tortilla strips

It will cure what ails you.

Good luck~!

Good Old Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup.
Don't add water.
Won't need to anwyay.
Two cans, they're small now.

Chicken soup is scientifically proven to help with cold and flu.

Deltabravo, maybe that's the secret in yours. Sounds great btw.

If it were me, I'd add some Jalapeno. That stuff scares the crap out of any bug it runs into.

All I can say is Korean Hospital Soup. Have one of her buddies dig out the seaweed. ;-)

We're going to get flu shots next week. I am flying to Vegas and damned well don't want to pick up the crud in that crowded hell hole they call "fun."

Jeez, those chilis and a couple of Jalapenos should help act like a sweat lodge in cooking the bugs out of anyone partaking. That or light 'em up like a thermometer stuck in a pottery kiln. Might even make smoke come out of their ears while the sound of a factory whistle goes off in the background.

Here's hoping the better half of the JihadGene duo recovers swiftly...before you apply the Tortilla Soup plus Jalapeno torture!

(Actually, that soup sounds pretty darn good. I'm adding it to my recipe file.)

Mine's sick too, as is Thing 1 (our son). I forsee lots of hot tea, chicken noodle soup, and 9 hours of football in their future.

Fashion Thug. Sounds cool. Got a website? I'd like to check it out and throw you some worthless American currency.

Deltabravo- I'll eat the tortilla soup!!! Sounds like a potential ass-kicker! Kim's eatin' the seaweed soup...damn Korean!

Kid- Yep! Chicken noodle and hot tea with lemon & honey.

LL- You're preachin' to the Korean choir!

Kanani- My wife is very pro-flu shot too! Me? I'd rather take an ass-beatin'. Don't worry about the crud in Vegas as all the smoke in the casinos kills everything in the air. My motto is "smoke 'em if you got 'em...outside, please."
See ya at dinner time with Laughing Wolf and company.
Viva Las Vegas Milbloggers!!!

Joated- Thanks friend! Deltabravo's soup recipe sounds like a Mexican sweat lodge of death...but hell...I've eaten Korean food for years...so it sounds wonderful to me!!! Besides...I love cilantro and chili peppers (all kinds 'cept for raw habaneros).

Dr Dave- Hope your Mrs and "Thing 1" (cracked me up) is feeling better soon! Believe it or not my lovely Korean wife is a 49ers fan looong time so NFL football is her cup of tea today. For the blog I call our store Fashion Thug...it's real name is similar and we have no website. It is a small operation, about 3000 sq ft, and we really-really do sell gang-banger wear...Dickie's for guys 'n gals, Ben Davis, Big Daddy, South Pole, Low Rider, DyseOne, Lugz shoes...DGK (dirty ghetto kids)...Mob Inc...and crap like that. If you run with the North or the South....if you are a Blood or a Crip...I can hook you up, Homie!!! Thanks to Bush and Obama you can keep your worthless US cash-stash. I'll soon be taking gold or silver only, I think.

The only thing i have to say is: add yellow hominy to the tortillla soup.

I hope the missus gets better soon...but I'm with you; i'd rather go ahead and get sick and get over it if i have to, mostly i just don't catch it.

JihadGene said...

aA- Thanks for the get well wishes! I think the yellow hominy is a good idea! I do not DO NOT DO NOT want to get sick till I get back from the Blof World Expo in Las Vegas.

Hope Kim is on the mend and will be out of leg irons soon!

Wow... how often does one write that?

Maeve said...

"Opposites attrack. They get married and then they drive each other nuts".
Yep, me & the hub are living proof of that too! Hope the Lovely Ms.Kim gets better SOON!

JihadGene said...

Pam- She feels better(she says)so I have replaced the leg irons with a ball and chain just to slow her down a bit. Besides, the added weight will build endurance and strength!

Maeve!!!
WOW!!! You married Jesus!!! (hee-hee)

I know exactly what you mean about not being able to get around and read all the blog friends... right now I need 72 hour days instead of the normal 48. *sigh*

Hope your lovely wife is feeling even better by now!
