I know that our U.S. Department of Immigration is overworked, hard pressed, and sometimes they get things all wrong. Such is the case of a young mother from Japan and her infant son. She is a newly wed and already a widow. Her son is now an orphan. She married one of our nation's best, a US Marine, who was killed during combat operations in Iraq 2008. They got married by proxy in Japan, filed marriage papers after deployment to Iraq where he was later killed in action, and now U.S. immigration refuses to acknowledge the marriage. The Japanese born widow and her orphan are soon to be sent back to Japan. This is not right! Pure and simple. Go
HERE to read the story of US Marine Sgt. Michael Ferschke, Hotaru Ferschke, and their son. I thank Matt Burden (
Black Five) for posting about this on his blog.
We can make a difference and Congressman John Duncan of Tennessee is on it but we need one Senator who will do what's right and sponsor his bill after it goes through the house. Sgt Ferschke's mom and dad live in Tennessee and are caring for the widow and child there, so that's where we need to make contact...our target, Tennessee. Please respectfully call or write to:
